I am using a high quality filter with twice capacity than required in my fancy goldfish tank. It keeps the water clear, and we do partial water changes often. I think having a heavy duty filter is a good thing for goldfish.

well u can get an cheap critters tanks.there really cheap and come in all sizes.u can find them in every pet stores.as they used for fish,hamsters,gerbils, and reptiles.i uset 2 have one.but then got an more expensive one.plus u might need 2 filters in the tank.so it cleans up twice as fast! the brown stuff is pooh!its an fact.goldfish r pretty fast digesters.and in seconds after eating they poop the food out.ive have 6 goldfish

i think u need a bigger tank.maybe one of them critter tanks.they r very cheap.plus u can find them in every pet store in nearly every size.since they can b used 4 other animals.they range from 5 to 15 dollars.and then u should get two power filters.2 double the cleaning.both under gravel.plus u should clean them once every 3 days the least
