Hi, my mother inlaw bought two 'dime fish' (pronounced as in the coin) about 4 months ago.
she recently introduced three apple snails into the tank, overnight one died from having the tip of its shell taken off, the other two were moved into my tank and have done well even though i have an adult red fiddler crap(who takes no notice of them).
the trouble is we dont know what killed the other snail and traumatised the surviving two.
The tank also features a silver shark( about 6"), which was observed nibbling at the holes of the dead snail's shell.
We want to rehome the fish thats killing the alge eating snails but we're unsure who's the culprit. My own tank as pritty much the same creatures in but on a larger scale. the only difference is the 'dime' fish and the silver shark.
I cant seem to find much information on these fish when i google them, i can only presume this is a shop name for them that varies from region to region
