Is there a reason why I wouldn't feed my CO2 into one of my filter intakes?

Or

Is there any reason why I wouldn't stick a powerhead in my tank and just feed the CO2 into that? Does it really need to be mixed better in some way?

Hey

The main reason people tend to avoid that technique is because of the noise air bubbles make when they are fed into the impellor

The more specialised equipment ensures better Co2 diffusion - requiring less co2 to achieve the desired PPM

Cheers

not necassarily, with the CO2 being pumped into the filter, the CO2 is dissolved and it gets pushed around the tank more evenly.

One of my big concerns is that the reactors seem to get gunked up really fast and need regular cleaning or they rapidly loose effectiveness. Do you folks clean your reactors a lot?
