Diffuser On Diy Co2 Mix Question

Hi

I have two hagen canisters producing CO2 into a single tube. I thought I would try out a ceramic / glass diffuser with a bubble counter.

When my bubble counter is attached without the diffuser I am seeing bubbles being generated in quick succession. As soon as I connect my diffuser it practically stops.

Is this down to pressure and if so is this OK to leave?

Depends on whether it creates enough pressure to start diffusing, I'd set up a couple of 2L bottles and make up the mix myself and change them after 7 days but stagger them a few days apart, that gets good pressure, if not use the ladder you get with the kit, they're great for diffusing.

I like wooden diffusers for my DIY co2. You don't need a bubble counter for DIY co2 because there is really no controlling it. With pressurized co2 you need to make sure you don't gas your fish and a bubble counter comes in handy.

I use a drop checker and a wooden diffuser on my co2. It helps to have the bubbles get hit by water currant to keep the bubbles from going straight to the surface. I use to set it up so the bubbles went up the intake.

Yeah it's a little block of that you connect the tube too. It make nice small bubbles and does not need much persure. They do kind of get warn out with time. But I love them you can get them cheap on eBay. You could make them if you are ok with wood working.
