Advantages of Acrylic over Glass:

Acrylic aquariums can be made to any size and they are seamless.

Acrylic aquariums have better insulating properties than glass.

Acrylic aquariums can be easily drilled by anyone.

Acrylic aquariums have a lifetime warranty.

Acrylic aquariums can be polished when scratched ( glass scratches are permanent ).

Overall, acrylic is probably better, but costs more.

well you make them sound so good. i have 3 main concerns though. in my readings iv heard mention of acrylic tanks becoming discolored, disintegrating, and bowing tremendously in the middle of larger tanks (and i will be needing a large tank - 75 gallons US minimum) how is it that all these things happen?

Well my tank is 350g and the bowing is not a problem

as stated most of the acrylic tanks i have seen in the US are made real bad

you get good tank makers the world over we have 2 acylic tank makers that i know of hear in the UK one is great and the other is crap
