This is all new to me, and I have a lot to learn.  Right now I'm trying to figure out the best food for a community tank.  Who knew a fish could become constipated.  I only have a few fish in a tank I've had for about three months.  Three Rasboras (Pork Chop), one Tuxedo Guppy, one Cherry Barb, and two Panda Catfish in a 20 gallon tall.  I had more fish, but unfortunately they suffered due to my lack of experience.  I'd been told flake food was all they needed for a diet.  I don't believe that now, but don't know what would be best.  Open to good advice. Thanks!

Hi Neophyte,

I have two big tanks at home. I feed all of my fish New Life Spectrum. In my planted tank I have neon tetras as well as a lot of other fish, so these guys get 'NLS small fish formula', so its easy for them to eat. You can also get 'NLS community fish' (as well as many other varieties) so I guess it just depends on how big your fish are.

My Malawi cichlids (in the other tank) also get NLS, but a specific cichlid formula.

Both tanks also get NLS 'alagaemax' as a treat.

Flake food is rubbish, in my opinion.

NLS is great, all my fish love it, have developed really good colour and it doesn't cloud up your water.

I hope this helps :)
