Didn’t realize how pretty these would be… Diamond Angel fish

I took a chance… we’ll see how it does, as it came in smaller than I expected… on angels, it seems most measure the body without fins, this one came in measured with the fins… so right now it seems to be holding it’s own… fingers crossed… I guess I didn’t know, or understand the “diamond” name… I’ve seen pearl scales before, and these look like chrome plated pearl scales… this one is supposed to be blue, and hasn’t colored up yet, ( less than 24 hours here ), but sure is pretty, looking, like a chromed angel… on line pictures don’t do them justice… hoping it thrives, it has several bigger tank mates, but maybe being smaller, the others won’t view it as a threat… it’s eating well… I hope it gets the blue sheen…

@Colin_T ... I do have a problem... no arguing there... now all my tanks are mostly done... ( got a couple plants I could do yet ) & maybe now only some "special" Hillstream's, when / if they become available... I'm setting up the outside Tilapia tanks this weekend, then I can move the 50 - 3 inchers out of the aquarium into the grow out tanks outside... then aside from the outside farm work... I'm still adding pasture space, every chance I get...
I guess I'll have to start prepping the area the 250 gallon aquarium is going into... ( there is a crawl space under that area, so I want to add additional support to the floor, & complete the hard wood floor in that room, before placing & filling the 250...
also working out in my mind, where I might be able to place another or two ( at least 55 gallon, but thinking I'd prefer at least a 70 gallon ) I like the Tin Foil barbs in the Asian tank... but the collection of Hillstreams has grown large enough, that I may want to transplant the Tin Foils... & I do have the accidental Geo's that are going to get bigger than the Cupids they were supposed to be, and are going to have to be moved sooner or later... and there is a preferred temperature difference between the Geo's & the Tin Foils, so they won't likely end up in the same tank...

Well.... as they say beauty are in the eye of the beholder. I have some pb clown pearl scale angelfishes (i do believe yours is pearl scale); they are ok but i think i've had enough of angelfishes. I just spent an hour watching my little ol male a. lineta flex for the female now that is one impressive fish. It has no colours just a wonderful gymnastic of a body.

I will be honest of the domestic angelfishes i own the ones i like the 'best' are the plain marble; each fish is totally different. I thought i would like clown pb angelfishes and when two of the group turned out to be pearl scale i was amused but it turns out i'm not a huge fan of pearl scale angelfishes and the clown gene while amusing on paper doesn't do a lot for me. Anyway they are allow to swim but i won't make an effort to breed them or replace them. The marbles - while i might toss in a few bbs if they learn to keep the flag cicild away but probably not i mean what am i going to do with 30 million marble angelfishes no matter how nice they look.

Everybody has their own preference when it comes to angels. Mine were limited to doube dark blacks on the domestic side and altums on the wild side. I have kept both.

I have 4 large altums now which were actually bred in the Las Vegas area. I know who the breeder was but I acquired them as partial payment for some of my plecos from the person who had bought them from the breeder. This was about 5 years ago, They were youngsters then.

Looks like the new Angel has been accepted… unfortunately can’t say the same for the little gold rams… diamond is supposed to be blue… hoping it’ll reflect some of the blues from the Acaras, as it matures

Update on lil diamond…. It’s getting along with everyone… eyes are going to be red… not seeing any blue color yet.. its eating very well… think he’s going to fit in nicely
