(Didnt know where to post this) Peacock Gobies/Gudgeon feeding

I wouldn't worry about the self-defrosting freezer, if working properly, the temp inside will never get above 32F (freezing), even during the defrost cycle. Modern freezers pull a vacuum inside the cabinet before defrosting, to maintain freezing temps.
Our Westinghouse fridge freezer used to defrost everything in the freezer. We had it checked and "repaired" by the company. It was exchanged for a new one and then a different model but they all did the same thing. We would wake up in the morning and the icecream was soft and melted around the edges. Meat used to get ice crystals under the packaging. Frozen fish food would melt, it was a nightmare. I spoke to a number of other people who had similar problems with their auto defrost freezers.

Our freezer/fridge went out about a month ago and so we were living on ice chests and ice... That was a pain.

@Colin_T
Here’s my 1950 custom decorated mancave Westinghouse fridge. Still works perfectly - they dont build them like they used to.

I've been without a fridge or freezer since 2016.

It probably works better than my old one did. Probably last longer too :)
