The receipt says 13/6/2020 ie 13 June not 13 May. Your thread also says you bought him on 13 June.

It depends where you go. My favourite LFS sells plain veiltails at about £5 but Maidenhaed Aquatics charges a lot more as their veiltails are always multicoloured - like my current veiltail betta which has a white-ish body and deep pink fins.

Yeah, the receipt says 13/6/2020 and I bought him on 13th June which is 13/5/2020. Or did I mess something up?

It seems to me tht the prices in the US and UK are expensive due to the import and transports charges.
At my place, I can get Neon Tetra for 30 to 40 cents(USD) each.

Also typical is pricing shoaling fish as so much each or so much for 5. Why 5? It only encourages people to buy just 5. My favourite shop prices fish as so much each or 10% off if you buy 5 or more. Much better.

The Frontosa is expensive at 20 Pounds. I wonder how big it is.
At my place, I can get it for 3.40 Pounds.
