Diatoms

Silicates (silicic acid) are the cause of unsightly diatoms. In 90% cases it comes though tapwater.
JBL sell a very precise SiO2 drop test and the "SilicatExRapid".
ahh yes thanks. i willdo that since i have a lot too

I didn't know that Ampullariidae eat snail eggs neither :lol:

Otocinclus and nerites have been the best diatom hoovers in my experience. Nerites probably edge out otos but I can’t live with all the eggs they lay on driftwood, rocks and glass. They’re very difficult to remove so I go with otos.
