Im in need of some assistance please.
My tiger oscar just lies on the sand breathing hard with his mouth open, hasnt ate for about 2 weeks and doesnt move much.
Ammonia-0 Ni - 0, Nitrate - 5

Somebody help please!?

Hes only 5 inches.

What have you been feeding him? I got my oscar bout a month ago and tried to feed him with bloodworm, crickets and bloodworm pellets. He wanted none of the about so i tried normal flake food and he loved it.

Tetra xl cichlid pellets, he use to love them, now he ignores it and lets it brush past him.
I tried blood worm, live shrimp, earth worms, mealworms, flakes, catfish pellets.
He wont have none of it, as his mouth is constantly open, he breathes slowly but heavily.

Is it bloated at all? Might be possible it's having a hard time digesting that chicken you gave it a while back on your LFS's recommendation. Maybe try feeding peas?

The only thing I can think of is bad water quality, and/or stress. (Maybe picked on by another fish? )

The last time my fish acted like this, my heater broke, and heated my cold water tank from 20C to 30C. Sadly, my fish died. :rip:

I tried peas he ignore it, he cant be getting picked on as a pleco wont do any harm neither would a bichir who is half his size.
Could be the chicken but I already saw him poop it out, and he was acting like this before that, I tried him again with his favourite pellets and he ate one, then spat it out, then out some of it again He just started to bite my senegal away when he comes near him.
Could it be internal parasites?
The only thing I have atm is kings british disease clear.
Temp is at 26

My oscars used to pout on their sides on the bottom of the tank after water changes, but not for two weeks straight. They hated it when I cleaned their home. But you mentioned his mouth is always open. Is it like he can't shut his mouth? Could he have run into the side of the tank in a panic? My electric blue jack dempsey dislocated his jaw doing that.

Well ive seen him shut it and he can chew fine, but most of the time its open and he breaths fast but slowly,
He isn't bloated either, I done a 70% water change yesterday.

Well, if he CAN close his mouth, it isn't dislocated. My jack hasn't closed his mouth in almost a year. Feeding him is a little tricky though. Glad your oscar isn't injured. Does he poop at all? Is it white and stringy? The only thing I can think of is parasites, but can't be sure.

Hm... since your ammonia is 0, we can roll out ammonia poisoning. Never heard of this before, I'm afraid i can't help.
But please update us!
