"A Derbyshire couple are trying to prove their pet Labrador cross is the oldest dog in the world.

Bella's owner David Richardson, 76, said he bought the mixed breed dog from the RSPCA 26 years ago when she was "at least three years old".

That would make Bella's age more than 200 in canine years.

But the RSPCA said it does not have any records for Bella and Guinness World Records said without the appropriate paperwork it could not be proved.

Mr Richardson said he thought Bella might be the oldest dog in England, but was shocked to realise that she might be the oldest in the world";

Wow, that dog is older than me, brings a whole new meaning to having long term commitment to having a dog as a pet! Never had any cats or dogs grow exceptionally old on my mums farm, however we did once have a huge old rooster which lived to 13years old, which from what i have heard is exceptionally old by chicken standards :good: .

Wow, that's really cool. I hope he finds the paper work. You must have taken really good care of that rooster. I had a rabbit that lived to be pretty old. She died just a few months shy of her 11th birthday.

Yeah he had a very good life, totally free range and had a good diet (on top of his normal chicken feed like wheat, we also feed the chickens food waste/scraps from the kitchen, which they loved loads)- i was about 12years old when he passed away, it was quite weird having a chicken which was older than me. He looked quite similar to the rooster in the link below :) ;

My mum was always rescuing old unwanted battery hens, so he always had lots of ladies and he was quite a proud old rooster strutting around with his group of hens- he was very tame and had no problems being picked up and stroked or carried around, i missed him a great deal as a kid when he passed away (from natural causes).
Your old rabbit lived to a pretty ripe age too, i bet she was a lovely rabbit :) .
