Invest in some liquid test kits for ammonia and nitrite, and test every day until both are 0. That's when you can stop doing water changes every day

get testing kits for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and ph (if you haven't already.) Continue the water changes every day until they are all testing at zero (except ph, ph should test the same as tap water.) If the fish start acting funny, (sitting on the bottom again, acting sick) then up it to 30% a day until they perk. Once you are getting all zeros, your tank is cycled.

Warning: this could take several weeks... and don't be fooled by so called cycling solutions what speed up cycling, or only take 48 hrs. I am very much regretting the $20 I just wasted on that junk. Hope it's a fast cycle! GL!
