basically I have a cylinder denitrator with media (gravel like substance, not sulphur) which states run water through it for a day, shut off for three weeks then open so drips don't exceed 40 per min and anerobic digestion of nitrates should occur. no mention of nutrients or any other requirements except not to much water flow or it kills anerobic bacteria.


If they don't work I'll use it for water softening container.
 
update on this I have tested the water out of de nitrator and it's very low nitrate-with very low flow rate I wonder how much impact it will have on the tank as the denitrator only works at low flow rates. I'm looking at a month or more before i see any impact
