I saw this fish online and wanted them.  i was at petco last weekend and I saw that they had them but they are $10 a piece! Some day i'll have them!

As is often (but not always) the case, tank volume is not the vital criteria here, it is tank dimensions.
 
My "Congo rapids" 6x1.5x1.3 foot (~310l) would be more than adequate for a 10+ group of Redline Torpedo Barbs, if I was able to provide a variable temperature that was close to ~15C in the winter months rising gradually to ~25C in the summer months. However, without a heater, the tank varies ~21-28C (if we get a temporary heatwave). Not to mention my Chrysichtys ornatus and Ctenopoma acutirostre would consider them live lunch!
