lol MWM heres the low down on cichlid parental skills. most breeders will remove the fry once they become free swimming due simply to by that time the fry are activly looking for food, so they will remove the fry and put them into a bare bottom tank and feed them crushed flake or what have you and raise them that way culling those that dont seem to be keeping up growth wise with the other fry.

Juan,if that is true, should i move my jewel fry from their parents?because they became free swimming yesterday and the parents seem to be regeritating some of their food and giving it to the fry but at the same time i still try and give them crushed flakes but they dont except it. so should i move them?

sorry to hi jack mwm :*)

(btw i know theyre african)

o matt i forgot to tell you that lol oops lol hahahahahahaha jp man i did but you had that gay gold fish in your 5g

I moved all the fry to the 5g (all 14 of them  B) ) and the gold fish is back in my 55g ..I dont know what to do with the dumb thing :shifty:

Thanks Juan Next time ill be moving em Asap. They are already twitchin again hes getting ready :hey: B)

no problem MWM just remember to keep a divider handy when you remove the fry right away, sometimes the male will just figure that they died and want to breed again when the female is ready others they can just come unglued and will beat the living snot of the female because the fry went missing

good point. Hes already showing signs of breeding again but hes not being rough

mine is doing well he got the crap beat out of him by my Gold Suam, when she broke down the divider and wanted to breed but he didn't. but he is healing now but his tail will be forever ruined. but still always out and taking shrimp and scallops from my hand.
