Demersum Or Submersum?

Hello all,
can anyone explain the main differences between these two species of Ceratophyllum, and their different needs?

I'm planning a low-end brackish (SG 1.002) tank, pH 7.5, I'm a beginner, and decided to go for this plant, but I can't get a clear view of which species would best suit my needs.

Also, I'm aware that, if planted, the bottom parts will eventually rot and it will end up floating: would fixing it to bogwood or other decorations prevent this, or is it inevitable? Any suggestion on how to do that?
