The fish you suspect have TB need to be isolated and treated with anti-biotics (prefferably added to their food) or euthanised. You also can't use water changes alone to cure ich - you need an anti-protozoan med for that. I don't think you should add any more salt as it'll just be stressing out the scaless fish. I don't know about your angel but it sounds like she has an excessive amount of slime building up. Test your water and make sure there is nothing that could be irritating her and do lots of water changes. The build-up can be caused by parasites like Wilder mentioned or may be due to poor water quality or chemicals in the water. Water changes should solve the latter two possibilities and the ich treatment may be enough to kill off any parasites.

I though that there might be something in the water but I just don’t know what. Do you think this heater was maybe leaking something somehow? I’ve checked it out and I don’t see any cracks on it. There are no chemicals in this tank. I haven’t put anything in this tank, not even meds. I’ll set up a q tank tonight for the gups. The angel seems back to normal but this is probably due to the water changes. I just don’t understand what could have started it. I do weekly water changes, sometimes more. How about the drastic temp changes or maybe the ph drop?

ok so 500ppm will be equivalent to how many drops for a 30g?
It will (should!) come with an eye dropper type thing. I'd use at least two dropperfuls (possibly four if you get a small bottle which equals a smaller dropper). You can't really go wrong with it. There's no such thing as overdosing.

I've even had it cure dropsy. One of my favorite old lady bettas kept getting fatter and fatter, I assumed she was egg bound until her scales popped up,which is usually a sign that they're too far gone. But silver did her right and she's still with me today

I thought about your PH too. Does it swing often? Amazon Rain will buffer it.

thats really impressive.

With the daily waterchanges, are you making sure to match the temperature of the tank. Also, have you tested the tap water, sometimes if you live in or near a new development, they will have flushed pipes with ammonia and when opened the ammonia can spread at low levels into the surrounding supply. Just a thought that you might want to test your tap water.

yea i make sure the water from the tap is matched up. I use buckets unfortunately and I just drop the thermometer in there.

btw, yes i check the tap water specs. last summer my tap water had high nitrates and i had to use one of those deionizer things or RO something. can't remember the name of it.

I did a water change but not as much as I wanted cuz I ran out of dechloronater. I put in some Ick guard II (for scaleless fish) and silver colloid stuff. Temp is at 86F and the tank is still covered to prevent light from going in. I still have the UV going, 2 filters and an air stone. So armed and ready! Time to kick some ick ass!! and what ever else i got going on in there.
've lost another one of my gups and I think it was one of my very first.

Hey Wuv, does carbon affect the silver? I just realized this morning that I put in a new filter a few days ago that has carbon in it. grrr. I feel like a very bad mommy.
Plus I wake up to find the tank at 82F! which means over night the temp dropped 4 degrees. not good. back to the store to get a better heater. I'm gonna get the mother of all heaters this time. My apartment was freezing when i woke up.

Goodness sake, where on Earth do you live  Get an EBO Jager heater if at all possible. And yes, carbon will remove all of your meds, you'll want to use plain ol' filter floss for now. You can use Poly-Fil pillow stuff from any craft store,it works just as well and costs like .99 for a huge bag.

i'm so mad. maybe i'll just open up the filter bag and remove the carbon manually. I live in MA outside Boston. It has been freezing here but no worse than some other places. I just don't have control of the heat in my apartment. Before I moved I lived in a tiny place so I guess it held heat better. I bought a really good heater and I will slowly raise the temp back to 86 that will probably take until tomorrow at this point. grrr
btw, I didn't know it but my man uses this silver stuff and we had it in the house!
