Dead Shrimp

Shrimp are also extremely sensitive to Ammonia, as well as copper. I know Aquarisol will kill them in short order, I'm sure any other type product including coper would as well.

They also need iodine suppliment added to the tank after they molt, or they will start turning white and eventually die. The whitening is their exoskeleton turning mushy. The iodine helps their shell to harden.

Can you get iodine in your average lfs? Its just cos although my amoured shrimp has been with me for some time now and has molted many times, it has a couple of white flecks on its lower shell which im not sure are natural or due to iodine malnutrition.

I'm sure they would have it..or I know you can buy it online (What I did). The only brand I've ever seen (and have) is made by Kents, but something tells me there has to be more brands out there.

does this also apply to ghost shrimp,

I thought that it was normal since it made them look like ghosts

Ok it seems its the same symptoms of what you were talking about with the amano shrimp

I didnt find any iodine suppliments in any of the LFS's except an attitive for salt water by kent, is this what you use and is it safe with plants and all my fish?

I'm down from about 8 to 3,

I love the little buggers and would like to bring there stock back but not without having something for there exoskeleton
