I found this dead RCS when I got back from work earlier. Has this been dead for a while? All previous RCS deaths I've had were WROD-related is this something else?

I have plenty of neocaridina but I’m not familiar with those abbreviations. But he looks like an old shrimp.I found this dead RCS when I got back from work earlier. Has this been dead for a while? All previous RCS deaths I've had were WROD-related is this something else?

It sounds like you need to look into your water. Get the parameters right and the colony will thrive. GH is a common one that is either too high or too low. Or nitrates - most shrimp don't generally get on very well with a long term nitrate concentration of much over 10-15 ppm. I'd certainly check at least both of those. It's a sad thing to see that one was 1 of 3 bloody mary shrimp left from the original 15 I got a while back. I introduced lower-grade RCS in an attempt to start a colony but no results so far
