I came home from work to find one of my mollies DEAD and on the bottom of the tank she was squaring yesterday and i figured she was ready to drop but today she was Really big and Dead also which kind of upset me cause i was hoping for fry and all i got was a dead fish. I checked my water and found nothing that would kill her so i don't know what to think.

Could you give us the parameters instead of just telling us that it is safe? Were there any injuries, signs of diseases? Or maybe it had problems giving birth or something?

P.T.

it was in my 15g tank with three other females 1 male 1 5 inch pleco (common) over the top filter, partial water change yesterday treated for chlorine, hard water, ph around 8 maybe a little lower. nitrates and nitrites low and moderate when tested right after fish was found. newer activated charcoal filter a week and a half old about.

she couldhave had a problem giving birth.
thats been known to kill live bearers, has she ever given birth before?

also internal paracites could be to blame....

How old was the mollie, and how many batches of fry had she had, they can die before birth, during birth, or after birth.
