Dead Leaf Fish

Hey,

I just recently added a dead leaf fish to my tank. Its not really big enough to be eating minnows, but it doesn't seem to eat anything else. When I do add minnows, however, it follows them and eyes them down but never goes for a strike. Any ideas??

Well, leaffish are nocturnal, so it may well be waiting for the minnows to sleep at night before it tries to eat them. If you think it is too big to eat them, it may well be, and not even see the minnows as food. Try some frozen bloodworms, that usually rallies just about any fish to eat.

Feed it feeder guppies instead.

how big is he? you could try him on shrimps, they seem to irresistible to leaf fish
