you say the rams were at the top of the tank / this is not their natural place, especially in a tank as tall as yours. mine rarely stray more than 6-7 inches of the substrate. if i saw my rams at the surface of the water, or even more than halfway up, itd ring alarm bells for me.

I think it's because when I put them in I had a blue gourami and he dominated the tank when I had it and te rams was the victims, but he's gone now just waitin for him to settle in
