I lost my male BN pleco this weekend, the lights came on on monday morning and I noticed it sat in the grass being picked at by the cory's. It didn't seem to have any noticeable injuries, but it also didn't show any signs of being ill before it's demise. I would have half expected to have seen it with sunken eyes or something, but it appeared healthy the day before.
All the other fish appear fine including my other BN pleco so I really don't know what the problem was. What's the life expectancy of the BN pleco? I've had it for about 18 months, and it was perhaps a couple of months old when I got it from the LFS.
I haven't done a water test, (perhaps I should do one tonight just to double check.)
