Hi All
After running a 35 litre Arcadia marine tank now for a good few months, last month i decided it was time for an upgrade. So after much searching for a tank that fitted the spare space i had i decided upon a Fluval Osaka 155.
After much searching and bargain hunting i managed to find one on Ebay unused and un marked for the sum of £150, bargain as the tank retails for £350 new. It came with all the fittings canister filter, water treatments, T5 tubes, fish food, fake rock and TMC coral sand all unused and brand new.
So after setting it up and covering the back with black sticky backed plastic i decided it was time to fill with R.O. from my local stockest, only to find that there R.O. machine was faulty and they had just sold the last 50 litres, doh. Nearest place for R.O. was a 30 mile round trip so after finding several 25 litre canisters (free from local vets - they couldnt give them to me fast enough) it was off for water. The heater was placed in and the water salted.
It was then off for the fijian live rock from a company about 30 mins drive away. The guy let me pick my own pieces out and was very helpfull indeed, only got 10 kilos of rock as thats all i could have for my bday lol a presant (£138.00 worth of rock). I raced home and just dumped it into the tankand noticed that i have a black and yellow striped snail on one of the pieces.
The canister filter is currently stocked with the carbon and the stock fluval filter media which i intend to replace with live rubble asap, as well as getting anonther 10 kilos of fijian live rock.
Heres a few images so far.
