Hello, i just very recently purchased a sw ecplise set up, and i have a topic below this which isnt getting very many hits.. Ok, heres one of my problems.. My other is in the topic asking for help in the near future. Just below this topic. i really dont think the tank came with enough light to even support any reef. So im askign for a link, or hopefully first hand experience on this. Im only 15, so if i get a link, please dont let it be a really tough one. I've never done too much DIY.

Thanks so much in advance guys. I love these forums.

Its just a case of opening up your hood, tools out and getting on with it i'm afraid

I just finished getting the lighting and cooling sorted on my 8 gallon ready for some corals, managed to rellocate the original 11W PC and ballast inside the hood and install a interpet 24W PC along side it. For cooling i installed a couple of 4cm fans.

Have a look at the interpet power compact range, try and see whats possible to fit.

ok, can you please give me tep by step, or a website? And where did you get your lights? How much did they cost?

What does the inside of the hood look like? Sometimes they require a bit of amputation to fit in extra lights.

What OhhFeeshy said, probably require some amputation.

I dont have any walk throughs to give you, no idea the size or what your hood looks like.

Mine required a bit of messing about with,

I rellocated the original internal ballast as far to one side as possible and cut and flattened of some of the metal to put the 11W bulb in (which was originally mounted where you can see the large 24W PC). The 24W just fitted in, and some cooling fans were added.

Someone with the same hood manages to squeeze in 2 24W PC's

None of this is of any help, as i said before its really a case of just getting out the tools and seeing what you can do. Could someone in your family not give you a hand with some of the DIY. I got the 24W PC lighting from my LFS, you can buy them online (search for interpet power compact lighting).

Hope all goes well mate :good:
