Danios Cold Water

Yeah i am going to find out which days i can get off work next week and then order them :D ,
how many should be kept together?
is there anything else i need to know about them?
thanks for the help

What type of Garra did you order?

I would go for 3 as they do like company. A good place for info on them is seriously fish but for some reason i cant get on it at the moment. If you google seriously fish and then type garra in the search they should come up.
ok will have a read up on them :good:

This is the site i was on about
http://www.seriouslyfish.com/profile.php?genus=Garra&species=flavatra&id=963

Garra flavatra (Panda Garra) are territorial with each other, going a bleached out colour and can get nasty with each other, more emotionally (stress) than any physical harm. I'd say a 2-foot tank could house one, for three I suggest a 4-foot (this was my original setup), as this will give them a chance to each find an area of the tank they can call home (provide at least one cave per Garra).

They really love current, so aim for at least 8x the tank volume turnover per hour.

Garra flavatra in Wildwoods cost £11.95 not £5, the £5 garra is the Doctorfish, im not sure if these are suitable for community tanks, but they may suck onto other fish

cheers for the help, my tank is 3 foot so would two be ok?
i dont mind paying a bit extra for them :fun:
im oing to buy some more rocks and stuff for them as well and a power head.

Yep they will be fine in a 3 foot tank. But TBH Wildwoods fish are really over priced. Whereas they sell Panda Garra £12 each, my LFS sells them £5. Im sure with a bit of googling, you can find them cheaper :good:

Two is a bad number of Panda Garra... The submissive one will get continually hassled by the dominant one, hence I talked about one or three (more you be fine in larger tanks).

Three in a 3-footer is a "grey area," it might work in a well designed furniture layout, but you may end up needing to rehome two.
