Does any one keep them or is familiar with them?

Is there anything specific to know about this species, or is it just a usual small danio?

The particular idea I have in mind is to add a few to a tank that currently has D.Kyahtit's and Galaxy Rasbora's (these two seem to coexist well, with "Rasboras" shadowing the Danios)...Nigrofasciatus may make this a bit more interesting.

TIA for any comments.

IME they are a little bit less hardy than all other Danionins,
other than that treat as D.rerio :good:

Thanks, The_Wolf,

Anything more precise on "less hardy"?
(any particular water properties they need or just generally tend to get various diseases?)

Here, I normally don't have problems with Danio's, except for the Choprae, that could not stand the contaminants in the tap...

bit hard to say, however I did lose most of mine when the NO3 went above 70ppm
due to not doing a water change that week

Thanks a lot, The_Wolf,

This particular problem may not occur here: the tank is heavily planted including some un-id'd weed that grows very fast and removes nitrates....

These Danio's look like the best choice right now.

Any other good idea's for extra dither? The current stock is 4 Danio Kyathits, 6 Galaxy's (6 more quarantined), 6 Sparrow Rasboras. Tank looks pretty empty, since these are all small; I think I have space for another 6. Bottom are for various kuhli-class species. Unlike all the other tanks, I would like to try to make this one attractive...

This is how the dither mix looks like now:

(Sparrows form a separate small shoal under the plants).

The other two ideas being considered are leopard danios or killies (none of the fish right now uses the upper third of the tank).
