lol, actually in the last year or so i've stopped enjoyed the early days of stuff like x factor, just loads of being pointlessly mean and humiliating people for a quick laugh. fair enough people put themselves up for humiliation and should expect it, but it just isn't very nice. actually gone off the x factor totally this year, was all just full of the judges being a bunch of queens and trying to steal the show. rubbish.
I know what you mean, but I have mixed views on it. Some of these people who have been humiliated have gone on to earn money from it. So, whether laughing at them or with them, in some way they are achieving a lifes ambition of performing to an audience of people who are enjoying it (for whatever reason). now there isn't a lot of people who can say they have done that. I agree with you about the judges though.
The thing with reality programmes now is that they have just become popularity competitions. So in effect, whether you can sing, dance, skate or pick your nose whilst standing on on hand, it doesn't matter if people don't like you or there is some crowd pleaser who may be worse than you. I expect this applies to aggie (although I didn't watch it)...
