I have two dalmation mollies and one of these fish has greenish yellow edges on his fins. What could this be?

Stop flooding what the!
Looks like tail rott and internal bacteria, your fish is thin.

Sorry about the multiple posts. My browser was lagging and I kept refreshing. Hopefully someone will delete the others.

What should I do about this? I'll try and get a better photo.

well i would say its pretty normal, my balloon dalmation molly has that exact colouration :) (on the fin) i think it looks pretty good

agreed with above. just normal coloration...pretty at that :)
cheers

The edges on top of the dorsal fin is what I was wondering about, I know the colors on the tail are normal. The fish were thin as the others in the tank at the pet store, internal bacteria? Perhaps the whole tank was affected? I have started melafix for tail rot. Here are a few more photos:

What would I need for internal bacteria? I have Prazi-pro on hand. Or am I jumping the gun on internal bacteria?

looks fine to me?? i cannot see anything wrong with him...ive see fin rot and it does not look like that...when you see little white bits of fluff/dots/fin rips and such then you should start worrying, why not get us some info about your water states? im pretty sure fin rot is caused by bad water. about the only thing i would say about your molly is he is a little bit thin, otherwise perfectly normal

looks fine to me that's just the
color of the fins if it was fin rot
there would be holes and really raggy
edges to the fins

Okay great thanks everybody :D I was worried might be fungus or something. A load of my mind hearing your responses.

now i see what you are refering to. i was drawn to the iridescent colors on the tail as you pointed out.
as for the dorsal fin, have you noticed the fin receding? or is it staying the same just with that coloration?
as for internal parasites, it never hurts to worm your fish. prazipro will be just fine to use. but some fish wont eat it (i guess it tastes bad). so a round of worm meds wont hurt, and may help if they are getting thin.
just keep your water clean and hopefully after the wormer everything will sort itself out. i wouldnt randomly start throwing meds in the tank for finrot etc.
all the best
cheers

I havent really noticed it receding, or any frayness to the fin. My other mollie is starting to develop the same discoloration as well. The prazi-pro I have is in liquid form so I am going to start that tonight.

I wouln't start randomly throwing in meds for rot, I just thought I would try melafix as it is so mild and natural. I have stopped that treatment since the concensous seems to be that the fin is fine.

Water is clean and clear, Ammonia and nitrites are zero with nitrates at about 10. PH around 7.6. Lots of plants in the tank, although it is not the recommended size of tank for them as it is only a 10 gallon where I think they need 20-30 gal.

Thanks for your response :)

The orange colored edge of a molly's dorsal is called normal mature coloring. It is in no way a disease.

Thats good to know OldMan47, Thanks :)

I am treating with prazi-pro as they had no treatment since I got them.

Is salt a good thing to have in the tank with these fish? They are paired up with some platies. If so what dosage? I have plants in the tank.
