   Please no fish to do your cycling it shortens there life and the life they they do have is more of an "Existence"

Please please go and read this thread aboutFish less Cycling

I have just completed mine and will be adding my fish tomorrow, it only took 2 weeks and has saved a few fishes from a miserable and painful cycling experience

Kazie - you can buy pure ammonia from Homebase for less than £2. I added 20ml of ammonia to my 100l for the first three days, then 10ml for the next 2, then 5ml for the next 2 and then 1 ml to keep the bacteria alive until the tank had cycled.

Was very quick compared to the months you may have if you try to cycle with a fish. Not to mention the deaths you might have too.

Do a 'fishless cycle' instead... it is easy... as with all things, patients is the key... use the time to choose your tank layout and fish... and make sure you have Am, Ni, Na and PH test kits at the ready...

do a search for forum member 'rdd1952's excellent, easy to follow fishless cycling guide...
