Im new to taking good care to my fish.
I need to know what cycling is?
I hear ir alot. :/

That is really confusing???????
can u tell me how its done in shortest terms possible?

right....

Your fish poo & breathe, this causes ammonia to be in the water and this is dangerous to the fish and could cause them to die if the amounts of ammonia in the water are too high. Your filter will start to build up a colony of bacteria that will break ammonia into Nitrite. This is also toxic to fish so more bacteria will break this down into Nitrates which you can keep low with regular water changes. But for your tank to cycle it has to build up these colonies of bacteria within your filter.

Hope that helps!

Well, it depends on how you want to do it.
I prefer fish cycling whcih is just adding a few fish after about a day after the tank was set up.
You shoudl go out and buy a water testing kit, and tell us your water stats.
Somepeople will tell you to do a fishless cycle, but I think its just confusing.
how old are you?

For fish cycling
1. have water in tank with tank running fully for 24 hours.
2. add 3 cycling fish for a 10G, the fish either danios or white clouds.
3. get water test kit, get water stats. You want your nitrate and nitrite at 0. You want your PH around 6-8.
4. once your water stats are good, take out your cycling fish, and add your permanent fish.
5. Enjoy!

A good begginer book is "Aquariums for Dumiies"
Its a good book, with some contreversial info, but I thought it was good info all in one book.
