Cycling a 40 Gallon tank

I was looking at the FAQ for cycling, but it said to follow the link, and I can't find any link to follow!! So, I'm frustrated.

Can anyone help me with the link to how to cycle, or give me some hints? I did a search, but didn't find anything.

Can i just thank everyone for their tolerance of my stupid question

I worked out that the reason this excellent link didn't show up in my search was because the search defaults to not older than 30 days. This thread was older. I won't fall for that one again. Of course, I could have just opened my eyes, but what is new ....
