cycling a 2.5 gallon tank

Ooohhh. It's pertty. Hey um, I know, questions questions. Sorry. I just checked my ammonia content. I got .5 only after 2 days!? Maybe that's why he's stressed. I did a 25% change and I think I will start feeding only every other day. I might change my filter set up to something external to give matrim a little more room.

Oh, you can cycle a 2 1/2 gallon... its hard, but it can be done. did it with mine, with a female betta and an otto cat...

Good deal. Maybe change 25% every other day for about a week until the filter has become established. As long as your betta is eating, he should be fine. It took one of my bettas 3 weeks before was comfortable enough to eat.

i just dont' see a point in cycling anything that's 2.5G, i mean, you do regular water changes, which will keep all your levels down, plus you'll only be adding a max of 2 fish in i think the fish will be fine without cycling, but i dont' speak from expeirence

Thanks. At least I started off doing the right thing by doing the change. Thanks alot for you help. I really apprecaite it. I really like this betta. I want him to stay around for as long as possible. I'll have to keep a closer eye on my new one. I might like him more. He's pertier. I just have him in a bowl w/no filter so I will have to do, like, 70% changes every 2 or 3 days depending on ammonia levels. *Sigh*. Almost as bad as having a dog or cat.......... It will be worth it though.

Yea, but I have been warned, and will probably still fit a betta in every possible place. Hanging baskets in the bathroom, kitchen counter, dining room table......... I can see it now. I wonder what my wife will say when she gets home...... She's in the navy and is out to sea for the next month and a half.

haha i first got my betta just for fun for my 3 yera old sister...and has now evovled into 4 bettas, and another 25G for hte females
