Cycled Tank In 11 Days!

WOOHOO!!! My tank is fine now...no fish died and everything is fine besides I have algae in my tank :p

So your tank cycling took a bit longer than 11 days?
No It took 11 days. But everything was fine until this month then fish started dying and there has been lots of algae growing all the time which annoys me. Tht is what I meant by my comment tht no fish died. I meant no fish died before :p

Hey Lawrence.

Did you ever get the test kit for ammonia? Fish dying and algae would lead me to think elevated ammonia. This can still happen in an established tank. Could be something else, but that is what I think of first.

Ok all you guys are mentioning ammonia so i will bring a sample of water to my local fish store and they test it there for free...then i can see what problem I have. Thanks for ure posts.

*just found out they do it for free...didnt want to buy ammonia kit as its expensive where I live...15 euros or something

ammonia does not necessarily kill fish instantly. it lowers the immune system and stresses them out so they are more susceptible to illness as well as giving them ammonia poisoning which can show as red around the fins

well i think so anyway

so your fish may well be dying of ammonia poisoning so when you get the results post them up asap so people can help :)

Hey guys, I cycled my tank in seconds!

I hopped on my bike, and rode around it 5 times. So, if anything, I cycled it too much!!

Guess we have all been there before though :p
