Cycle Stalling?

Just done another test it's still reading as 0.25 for ammonia and 0 for nitrites.

Going to keep testing and see what happens, will have to keep an eye on the nitrates. And i'm going to look into getting an ammonia test kit as well.

Ok I have just done another water test after not doing any water changes for the past three days, mostly because of advice and I was planning on doing one tonight but I don't have the energy after doing three 13 hour straight shifts this week!

Anyways the results have stayed at ammonia 0.25 and nitrite 0. I haven't bothered checking nitrates I probably should.

Well tonight's results were:

Ammonia 0, Nitrite 0!!! :good:

I can't believe after almost 50 days it seems to have finished! Just hope it stays like this! Strange the fact its gone down, prehaps it was the ammonia in the tap water??

Yes, this is the kind of patience I've been talking about. Makes you heave a big sigh when it finally does something...

The A-Bac colony has to not only get large enough to handle the normal stuff but must also process the excess coming in from the tap water - these are always longer and more difficult ones. But you've got the first glimpse that you're getting there. I hope it will continue to be zero for you.

Still looking good ammonia was about 0 last night, just got in from work so gonna check in a bit after a rest. Fingers crossed!
