I got some nice plants about a month or so back, and theyve grown quite a bit, both of them.

Now theyre kinda too big, most the branchs/storks reach the top of the tank and further, coming across the surface of the water.

Was just wondering, is it okay to cut them? And can i re-plant them or will they just die?

Not sure if this should go in the planted section or not, as its not really a hard question lol.

Thanks

Ian :good:

ye a good trimming is good for plants...lets fresh growth and as far as i know helps them bush out! you can replant stems for most plants i think

chop and replant. most plants accept this. leave the cuttings to float till you see the roots growing. then plant

Thanks :)

They have a lot of roots coming down from the higher stems.

Theyre already quite bushy, alot of the fish like to relax under them, id love it if they grew bushier though, saves buying more plants haha.

Thanks

What plants are we talking about as some plants divide in different ways and should be pruned accordinly i.e cuttings, rhizome division etc.

Dont know there names TBH, but heres a picture when i first got them:

Theyre alot bigger now.

Yeah, From the photos I think you have Egeria densa.
So propagate via stem fragments (cuttings) simply snip and plant.
