Cut On Platy Head?

Hay guys,



Can anyone help me as my pregnant platy, who has been in the breeding trap for a 3 days or so, has got a scratch/cut on her left side of her top of her head.

She seems fine and not stressed, I think that she has been swimming up and down the trap and maybe where the water flow gaps are caught her head!!!

Has anybody got any info or tips on what could have happened or what i could do!!!

Get her out of the trap: they should not be kept in a trap for long periods of time: they will hold their young in that situation. The cut will heal naturally, and she should have no problems giving birth(if she hasnt aborted from being in the breeding trap so long without actually being close to giving birth.

Keep an eye on the cut to make sure it doesn't get infected or anything. My Platies have scratched themselves a few times, and they always healed on their own...but just keep an eye on it. Keeping the water sparkly clean is good for it too.

Cheers Anna...it looks to be healing but was so worried as she is due very soon didnt want her to abort or even die!!!
So am bit more at ease now with her cheers tho guys, will keep you up dated!
