So does anyone know where to get a custom cabinet made or just a cheap one for a custom aquarium. I'm thinking of getting a custom aquarium made, probably 283l, (L48xW18xH20inches) so I need to acquire a cabinet to fit and hold this. Preferbly cheap prices but any suggestions are great! :)

Also, on a side note, what does it mean when people talk about sliders on an aquarium? Is it a slide of glass to section the tank off?

Thanks everyone!

It'd be worth asking any local carpenter about the cabinet about a custom build. Or if you want, put some research in and make one yourself :) buying materials from a supplier.

I think a slider is the covers on the top of a tank, but I could be wrong

I got my custom tank and cabinet from ND Aquatics. If one buys both, I think one gets free delivery.

Sliders are probably plastic runners for the coverglass.

That local carpenter is a good idea. I'll definitely look into that. Thanks for all the info. :) Can save money now.

DIY is really cheap. You can get a super great cabinet for about £50 and a hood. The wood is cheap, the screws are cheap too, the paint is a little expensive but managable. You have to have a saw and a screwdriver, and maybe some sandpaper.

Research online, before to get ideas ;)

Depends what this local carpenter charges, haha!

Thats why I mentioned the DIY option, if you're confident enough. Good luck!

In the US these are Sliders

Put one under each of the four corners of something heavy and it makes it easy to slide it across carpet or floors. With them I could position my empty 120 gallon aquarium and stand by myself.

Gonna go with the Juwel Rio 240l. :) Thanks everyone! :)

Sliders if referred to as "glass sliders" usually means 2 or more glass cover sheets and plastic runners (look like an E shape, allows glass to slide past each other on two levels) by slotting into the grovves of the E.
