This evening i've culled a number of male yellow top sword endlers. All males lacked a top sword or just not long enough while already being adults. I've moved them to one of the mutt tanks.

They had Endlers at my LFS. Very pretty. Can they live with guppies?
I just got 2 GUPPIES!!!
They seem to quiver a bit, not sure why. But they are less shy than two days ago and they are eating.
The two are very close, or maybe that's normal for guppies. It's like they have bonded.
I really wanted 3 but didn't have enough money. It's been 4 days since I bought them and I am afraid to get a third because I don't want anyone fighting.
What's your advice?

They can live with guppies. They interbreed quite often. What gender are the guppies you got?

If you add 3 you should probably be fine? Odd numbers so they cant chase them all? They arent usually aggressive but sometimes. Rearranging the tank when you add them might help a little too

Well now it's just two alone in a 5g waiting to go in the 20g that's cucling... I think
.
I want a third
I'm not really considering the endlers, just curious.

Do you think I should get a 3rd tomorrow ?

Or should I wait until the 20g is cycled. A couple more weeks maybe? I don't know and am hoping to get responses to my posts on cycling

I guess my main question is

Add a third tomorrow and hope they bond as a trio, or wait and add the third when I add fish?

Either get 3 more so that if the 2 already there get aggressive they cant chase all three (total of 5) or wait until you add other fish

What do you do when your mutt tanks get overcrowded?

They look pretty good, I would put them in my LOTR tank. :fish:
If you'd live around the corner, I'd bring them to you...

Well, guppies and endlers can be combined without a problem. Only thing is if both genders are present, they are able to crossbreed.
There are several fish when they're moved to another enviroment, they have to settle in first before they're comfortable. That's normal.
Those look amazing even if they don't have the swords.. What do they look like with swords?
Well, like this...

What do you do when your mutt tanks get overcrowded?
There's always someone or a store that wants them. I don't have any difficulties to get them rehomed. If you'd see it overhere, you might get the feeling that a reasonable number of tanks are overcrowded. And I still manage it to keep those tanks stable without too much work. But that's more experience to get it right than just keeping tanks overcrowded and have a heavy bioload.

People should try to think a bit more simplified instead of listening too much to the advice of a commercial party within this field. Back in the days, there weren't so many supplies as these days. And in the past things went on just fine with those tanks and fish. So, what has actually changed throughout the years to keep those tanks and fish well?
My fish are doing well and that's the way I'd like to keep them. With pride the official health certificates are hanging in my fishroom. So, I have to keep up the good name...
