Cucumber

Clown loaches as far as I know don't love cucumber, they would eat it, I'm sure, but they
would prefer frozen and live foods such as bloodworm.

i put in a thick slice weighted down with a plant weight for my siamese flying foxes :good:

got some clown loaches an been told they love cucumber,
wat is the best way of giving it to them and what other fish like it,
:hyper:

I use something called a 'screwcumber'- basically a spring like shape that you screw into a wedge of cucumber and it sinks. Bought it on ebay. My otos love cucumber and so do my guppies.

i use a spoon and weight it down that way My clown goes nuts for it and will infact guard it against everythign else including all the barbs at once

My red tailed shark and the bigest of my clown loaches do the same, one eats while the other guards it against every thing else, they swap over, funiest thing i've seen

agree with others - just use a bit of lead (plant weight). My clowns love it (as do ottos and Mr Plec) I add 2 or 3 pieces so that they can all have a nibble

I use a metal BBQ skewer pushed through the slice with a piece of fishing line tied to it, I leave the piece of fishing line hanging over the top of the tank so that I can pull the skewer (and remaining cucumber) out easily, that way I don't have to put my hand (and half of my arm) in the tank to get it back out!

hi
for the past few days i have been putting a slice of cucumber in, to distract my clown loaches from going on plant munching raids,
its working very well as far as the plants go , but the clowns are now so obsessed with the cucumber their getting fat on it,
is it bad to put a small peice of veg in every day or should i limit it down a bit,

thanks
jamie g
