I know this must sound a bit weird but my Mollies, tetras and Gourami have started to eat more cucumber than the usual (besides the daily flakes), and even when I don't give them Cucumber they eat off the plants, so lately their poo strings have increased  I mean I can see them at the gravels surface and there are MANY every day!!!, + there are more green coloured ones than the "normal" from flakes.

I usually give them Cucumber every 2 or 3 days and they didn't used to finish it, but now they only leave the "shell" (not sure what it's called :*) ) like if they hadn't eat for days !!!!

So, is it "normal" that all of a sudden they are all eating more greens than what they used to??? is it healthy for them??? should I decrease the cucumber ???

Also, my mollies are eating more from the walls than the usual, I'm guessing its tiny algae I can't see, is this common??? why are they so hungry ?!?!?!?

Maybe its me freaking out, but I haven't seen them grow that much since I got them, so I don't understand why they are eating like crazy these past days

btw, I have had to vacuum more frecuently to avoid amonia increasing like at least 10% every 2 days + the regular water changes

did you increase the temperature lately? if so there metabolizm might be higher.

did you know they used to ( not sure if they do now) use nicotine as a pesticide?

maybe they REALLY like cucomber :D

the temp its the same, if something has changed actually is that it decreases a bit (no more than 1 or 2 C degrees) at night since its been rainning everyday, but its not such a big change since I've got a heater.

If your fish were a bit consipated the cucumber would have helped them unblock themselves and the fish also realise cucumber is good for them and so they are eating and pooing alot more, mollys need both veg and meat in their diets to be at their best health :) .

Hiya,

lol I have mollies, Guppies and neons in my tank and I recently made the tank much healthier and I saw that there waste was green and sometimes flake coloured, I got a bit worried but I found out that this meant they were eating the plants much more.. I asked someone and they said it was good that they were eating their greens...
