Cucumber and other such veggies are O.K for fish?

I recently (about 5 minutes ago) gave some cucumber to my fish
THEY LOVED it
as far as I know, this is O.K to do??

I just want to start varying their diet a bit

Yeah cucumber is fine. Plecs especially like it. Just remember to clear up any left overs so it doesn't pollute the tank.

Try cooked shelled peas, blanched brussels sprout,blanched broccoli,raw potatoe(occaisionally),courgette,blanched lettuce.
They can eat all of the above and lots of fish will surprise you by eating strange veggies

Rommaine lettuce is good for silver dollars, and my plec seemed to enjoy it.

I somethimes use it as a way to vary the food they get (which is normally algae wafers).
