I looked up if I can add crystals to the tank, found this article : https://foxandtoad.com/blogs/blog/can-you-put-polished-stones-in-an-aquarium#:~:text=In most cases, the answer, end of its tumbled cycle.

But I'd like to know if anyone has tried and has experience? The article explains briefly about mineral changes and other things. Main thing I'd be concerned about is toxic stuff leaching or mineral changes.

It says AMETHYST is the .ost popular, I guess meaning an easy choice for safety too. I would love to know if you have tried and can suggest best crystals please.

Thanks!

I’d guess most quartz family stones are safe Guess being the key word .I like the look of citrine stone be curious how you would scape in

Agree ! Quartz / silica is inert

it's fine, we had customers and workers do it at the pet shop.

some stones are sprayed with a clear lacquer and this is an issue to fish. But if it hasn't been covered in anything, then it's fine to use crystals in tanks.

I think a lot of crystals break down into water tho , I learned this because a lot of people put crystals into drinking water since Dr.Emoto proved the structure of water can be changed... Which lead to info about some crystals being toxic if residue is consumed.

So I just wanted to enquire about types of crystals people might have more knowledge about or experience. I know quartz seems fine but maybe stone other types I don't know about...
