I know how you feel about this situation, really I do.

My cousin used to compete with me over animals. Like, I got 2 guinea pigs - so he had to get two guinea pigs (one died within a month and he neglected the other so badly I took it from him), then I got a rabbit - he got a rabbit (which I ended up having yet again because he couldn't look after it)... it was a vicious cycle. In the end he just said he wanted to be more like me and I accepted it. I'll kill him if he gets fish though
