Okay, I don't know much about crowntails...okay nothing really at all. I have one (I know that much :p ) but what I am wondering, is it natural or okay for some of the long pieces of fin, i don't know how to describe it, the "fringes" to be sort of L shaped at the bottom? Is that normal? If not what can I do to fix it, and no, i will not cut his fins.

Also, i know this is only semi-related, but I put in a thermometer into his tank about 15 minutes ago, and he is charging at it, flaring the whole time, should i take it out and get another one, or should i leave it in and see how it goes?

Any help would be very appreciated!!!

I know nothing about whether or not the fin shape is natural, but I do know that bettas have been known to charge glass things (I think they can see their reflection in it and think it's threatening). I'd get an external, digital thermometer. It'd be safer that way. :)

I've had the L shaped fringes too, and I don't know if it's bad, or if it can be prevented.... anyone else?
