Is it possible to breed a male guppy and a female molly?

Yes, it is possible. Since they are both from the Poecilia family they can interbreed. I'm not sure how easy it would be to breed them...but it is possible.

Sure but Jackie is dead now. But I bought a male molly a week ago that might breed with my female guppys. He seems pretty interested with them so I might get soem muppies. I can ship them to Minnesota. I will keep you updated on what they're doing.

You were actualy more likely to get fry from a male guppy to female molly crossing than from this male molly to female guppy crossing. Still, it's possible. Unfortunately, many of the fry from this sort of cross are not viable or healthy. Also keep in mind that a lot of the mollies and guppies available are hybrids in themselves (the mollies are crosses of all sorts of species p. velifera, p. latipinna, p. sphenops and the guppies are often endler's X guppy crosses). This just adds to the difficulty of hybridising the two.

I dooooo hope you're not serious about the possibility of Muppies? I do have a couple of mollies over in the male guppy tank and the one identifiable male mollie is over with the excess female guppies right now. Argh! Muppets is one thing! Muppies----oh how I hope nobody gets any fancy ideas in there! Thanks for the FYI. If I see any different fry I'll know, to quote Malcolm from Jurassic Park, "Life found a way".

All my female guppies are dead. The Boys(2 Male Guppies, 1 Male Molly) are so bored to death that they're trying to breed with each other. Im going to buy 3 or 4 female mollies and see what I get.

yes a mollie and a guppy can breed to produce muppies and gollies (like liger and tigon).

THe fry are fragile and hard to raise so they end up becoming food anyway.
