ok, what i want to do, is purchase a male fancy guppy. then, i am going to purchase a fire tail guppy, green cobra guppy, and a fancy guppy, those three r all gonna be females. ok, i heard that fancy guppies can cross breed. will these combos work? plz tell me. if u have any suggestions, it would be apreciated.

They are all the same species, so, yes, they can breed.

Think of them like different breeds of dog. They look different, but they can breed.

hmm, i have changed my mind, i'm not gonna get a female fancy, something else. any suggestions?

Neon was the first thing that popped into my mind :crazy: ????
Seriously, it has to be a guppy. Why not a fancy? Exactly what would a feeder guppy bring to the table?

I'm a bit confused. What exactly is the difference between a "Fancy Guppy" and a Green Cobra..or Flame Guppy? I consider those colorations to be types of Fancy Guppies, because they are not the original wild colors, or anywhere near those... -_- So what exactly do you mean by Male Fancy Guppy...or Female Fancy Guppy?

Anyway, the answer is yes. Any Guppies can breed together. Though you might want to watch out breeding "Fancy Guppies". These Guppies are not hardy at all, you are inbreeding even further into a VERY weak line...

They're all Fancy Guppies. Just different names for the different colorations.

well, then, can someone give me a list of guppies? i already got sunrise female on my mind. i'm stickin with male fancy.

Heres a link with a couple of the hundreds of color variations available in guppys, although these realy are not hardy specimens at all and need alot of maintanence;

As pure breds they are worth a fair amount but as mongrel crossbreeds they are worth next to nothing and are not half as desirable to buyers and you'd be lucky to get a couple of pennys for crossbreeds, the majority of them are also very rare so you'd be lucky if you can get your hands on them in the first place.
Have you taken into consideration that these guppys are going to be producing tons of fry for as long as they live? Guppy breeding is no easy task at times due to the large quantitys of fry they produce...

Types? Uh..

Fancy Guppies (and all their different colorations and tail types)
Wild Guppies

They are still the same species though.

Is that what you wanted?
