I bought crinums last year for £6 for medium sized ones and £8 for large ones, from someone on another forum whose plants are always exceptional quality and no algae etc.  Whilst your pricing is up to you, I think you would do better to put a price on from the start, because as you have seen, asking people to make offers turns this into an online auction (as opposed to a For Sale subforum) and potentially a slanging match/price war.  Its also probably fair to say that none of us can say "they cost such and such at TGM" with any real conviction because shops like them have massive overheads which they take into account when setting prices.  So there really is no comparison.  Also, if you buy something from a retail outlet you do have some recourse if there are problems (yes, even with live plants), so when we sell our stuff on here and elsewhere we have to factor in that buyers are 'taking a risk' buying from us.  Different people will ask for different prices of course.  I used to sell twenty stems of blyxa for £8, yet another person used to as £1 per stem. (I would say mine was healthier and larger than what they sold too).  Its honourable that you have stated you are not selling to make money but many will see (for example) £15 for a crinum as a bit steep given the other factors I have mentioned.

Please dont think Im saying this to have a go, because Im not.  I just wanted to put my perspective on it for for you as this is the first "for sale" post you have made :)

Incidentally, the plants look very healthy.  How long are the crinums? (that can help people decide, as well as an honest appraisal of the plants' condition). And I think the reddy coloured Crypt you could not remember might be Cryptocoryne Tropica but cannot be sure from that pic. :)

Mishmash you're absolutely right.

With the crinums I simply took a look at where I bought them and compared that with bulb prices on ebay and though somewhere in the middle would be fair? They had been in a dirt setup for almost 3 years to the day and when I removed them they actually made a really loud "sigh" sound. I didn't expect to haggle or for someone to not want to purchase them but post merely to haggle on the price?

The crinums leaves doubled the surface of the tank so each leaf was at least 150cm long. They are the crinums in my sig pic.

Anyways guys I sold and posted everything earlier today to a member on another forum who paid £42.50 which was easier for me as I could just post everything at once.

Thats fair enough.  I tell you what though, if you had said how big those crinums were you would have sold them for more.  Its all about people knowing what they are getting with plants as there are so many scheisters on the net.  On here its ok mainly but its still good to know what is what.  Glad you sold them anyway.
