just a quick question, I've got one bulb of crinum which has grown quite long, so I was curious if I was to cut the leaves to within say an inch or 2 of the bulb will they grow back, or would this kill the plant? Ta.
this is a brilliant plant, I've got a few in my goldfish tank (one plant they wont eat or dig up, lol). The leaves do get really long, some of mine are over 4' long before I need to trim them back..................you can either trim them back to a length which is more suitable for your tank, or trim them right back to the bulb. Neither will do the plant any harm , I tend to trim them back to a more managable length (so they don't block too much light) then once the newer inner leafs are longer then I remove the outside leaf right back at the base .
